Code of Conduct¶
Our Pledge¶
We want participation in MANA to be a welcoming, harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, respectful and healthy community.
Our Standards¶
Behaviour that contributes to a positive environment:
- Being kind and patient, especially with newcomers
- Respecting differing viewpoints and experiences
- Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
- Taking responsibility for mistakes and learning from them
- Focusing on what is best for the project and its users
- Keeping discussion technical and on topic
Unacceptable behaviour:
- Sexualised language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without explicit permission
- Sustained disruption of discussions or pull request reviews
- Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Scope¶
This Code of Conduct applies in all project spaces: the GitHub repository (issues, pull requests, discussions, code review comments), the documentation site, and any other forum used to discuss MANA. It also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.
Responsibilities of Maintainers¶
Maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards and will take appropriate, fair corrective action in response to behaviour they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive or harmful. Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit or reject comments, commits, code, issues and other contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.
Reporting¶
Report unacceptable behaviour to the maintainer, @othaime-en, privately. Use the contact details on the maintainer's GitHub profile, or GitHub's report content feature for content in the repository. Please do not post reports in public issues.
All reports will be reviewed promptly and fairly, and the reporter's privacy will be respected. Maintainers will not disclose the identity of a reporter without their consent, except where required by law or to protect someone's safety.
Enforcement¶
Maintainers will follow these steps in determining consequences for any action they deem a violation:
- Correction: a private or public request to change the behaviour, with an explanation of why it was inappropriate. Applies to unprofessional or unwelcome conduct.
- Warning: a formal warning that continued behaviour will lead to consequences, with a defined period of no interaction with the people involved. Applies to a violation through a single incident or repeated conduct.
- Temporary ban: a time-limited ban from any interaction or public communication with the project. Applies to serious violations or sustained inappropriate behaviour.
- Permanent ban: a permanent ban from the project's spaces. Applies to a pattern of violations, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward classes of people.
